Benefit Thank You
I want to thank everyone who attended and participated in the Jim Muir Benefit at Air Conditioned Supper Club in Venice August 20, 2009. This Benefit could not have happened without the support and generosity from members of the surf and skate community which I have been blessed to be a part of my whole life. The donations I’ve received will help with my continued rehabilitation towards my ultimate goal for a full recovery.
Thank you to all of the artists that contributed their artwork. Without their contributions the benefit would have never gotten off the ground. I would also like to thank Kevin Lewis (Skate Dice), Desiree Astorga (artist & photographer), and Jake Sherwood (benefit web master) for their daily support and advice.
Big thanks to all of the incredible entertainment that contributed their time to play at the event. Guitar virtuoso Ray Barbee whose solo performance is a must see, P.F.L. (Punk For Life) played all of your punk rock favorites with special guest appearances by Aaron (“Air Dog”) Murray, Josh (“Bagel”) Klausman, and Louiche Mayorga (former Suicidal Tendencies and current Horny Toads bass player), and the acoustic Duane Peters Gunfight set which was a straight up classic rock & roll performance with special guest appearance by Trigger Gumm (motorcycle daredevil), and keeping things going all night DJ Fluffy spinning the smooth reggae beats.
Thanks to Thrasher, Sector 9, Deluxe, Independent, Vans, W.E.S.C., Hurley, Dogtown, and Venice Originals for their tremendous generosity, sponsorship and donated product.
A very special thanks to my wife Eire and my son Teague. I love you both.
